Suspicious death investigation in Covington

COVINGTON, KY (FOX19) -

Police are investigating a death they are calling suspicious in Covington.

Police were called to a apartment complex near the intersection of Greenup Street and Pleasant Street where they found the body of 57-year-old Donnell Brown.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Spike Jones with the Covington Police department Brown was found by a person doing work on the property. He says they do not believe he lived at the apartment but they do believe that Brown lived in the area.

Police are not releasing the cause of death at this time.

Brown's wife, Sharon Brown, said her husband's head and legs had been severed. Sharon Brown said her estranged husband moved from Burlington to Covington in August and was staying with his son and the son's wife. They last saw him early Monday.

The son, Denny Brown, said his father didn't take his cell phone charger or his medicine and said that was odd.

The situation got community members heated. One man was arrested after a fight broke out.

The investigation is ongoing.
