BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A federal judge has ordered two Louisiana inmates suspected of killing a man after escaping custody to be sent to Mississippi to face charges.

Darian Pierce, 33, and Ricky Wedgeworth, 36, were indicted earlier this month on carjacking and murder charges.

They are expected to appear in federal court early next month.

They escaped from a work detail at the DPS headquarters on March 4.

The body of David Michael Cupps of Sunbury, OH was found in Bessemer, AL.

Investigators suspect Wedgeworth and Pierce carjacked and killed him in Vicksburg, MS while they were on the run.

They were captured in Memphis, TN on March 14.
