The district attorney said the DNA evidence taken from two LSU football players in connection with a fight outside a bar was "inconclusive."
DNA was taken from shoes and clothing belonging to quarterback Jordan Jefferson and linebacker Josh Johns.
A grand jury hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
District Attorney Hillar Moore said it will take at least two sessions to present the case and go through witnesses.
Jefferson and Johns were suspended indefinitely following a beating last month outside a bar near LSU's campus.
