BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Nearly 1,000 people poured into First Baptist Church in Downtown Baton Rouge on Sunday to remember the 10th anniversary of September 11.
Gov. Bobby Jindal, the keynote speaker, talked about his personal memory of that September morning.
Jindal, who was working for the Bush Administration at the Department of Health and Human Services, said he remembers the chaos as if it were yesterday.
"I literally had friends that crashed on the plane into the Pentagon," Jindal said. "We could smell smoke from the Pentagon. It was that close."
Jindal joined members of the military, first responders and other elected officials for the anniversary event.
