Man suspected in triple murder surrenders to police

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

The suspect wanted for the murders of three women Saturday afternoon turned himself into authorities early Sunday morning.

Courtney Williams, 21, of Baton Rouge was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on three counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said the dead victims were identified as Josephine Lathers, 76; Brittany Lee, 18; and Clarisa Cobbing, 19.

Detectives said the wounds of the other shooting victim are not considered life-threatening.

At last check, that person was listed in stable condition.

The shooting happened in the 1000 block of Progress Street in north Baton Rouge.

Police added the incident is considered to be a case of domestic violence.
