BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -
A group of kids with a hankering for barbeque were given credit for helping to save a family from a house fire Monday.
The fire started in the back shed of a home on Flamingo Drive in Baton Rouge. It is located in the Sherwood Forest area.
A father said his kids ran inside to tell him they smelled barbeque outside and wanted some.
He saw a large plume of smoke billowing from the back of a neighbor's home when he walked outside.
He then went and knocked on their door to get them out.
An adult and two kids were inside at the time.
Everyone made it out safely and there were no injuries reported.
