TEXARKANA, Texas (AP) - A 16-year-old Redwater-area girl has been arrested and charged with three counts of capital murder in the deaths of a Texarkana mother and her two children.
Bowie County Sheriff James Prince tells KSLA-TV in Louisiana that police received a phone call around 8:30 p.m. Friday from a woman who said her daughter had confessed. Thirty-four-year-old Amanda Doss, 8-year-year-old Texas Johnson and 11-year-old Guinivere Doss were pulled from the home following the May 11 blaze.
Prince says investigators interviewed the 16-year-old at her home and she provided details that only someone who was at the scene of the crime would have known. Police did not identify the teen. Prince said she was a family acquaintance.
The teen is being held at an undisclosed juvenile detention facility.
