Fire sparks in bedroom of home

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Firefighters battled flames at a Baton Rouge home early Monday morning.

It is located in the 10000 block of Darryl Drive, which is off Choctaw Drive.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department said the blaze started in a bedroom around 2:30 a.m.

Firemen said when they arrived on the scene flames were shooting out of a front window.

No one was home at the time.

Officials said the homeowner showed up after the fire was put out.

Investigators said the flames did about $30,000 worth of damage.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but foul play is not suspected.
