WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH, LA (WAFB) - A deputy who worked in the West Baton Rouge Parish jail is accused of having sex with a teenage girl. Sheriff Mike Cazes says he learned about the incident from an anonymous Crime Stoppers tip.
Cazes says on Tuesday he got word that one of his employees had sex with a 16-year-old. He says the very next day his Juvenile Crime detectives called in former deputy Anthony Guidry and got the answers straight from the jailer.
Guidry stood guard at the West Baton Rouge Detention Center for three years. His stint with the sheriff's office came to an abrupt end on Wednesday, when Sheriff Cazes says his detectives learned the 24-year-old had sex with a 16 year old girl.
"We polygraphed him. He admitted to everything. It happened," Cazes said.
A report by the sheriff's office states, during a videotaped interview, Guidry admitted to having sex with the juvenile once at his residence. He said it happened in March.
Guidry was charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile, booked into jail and released without bond. Cazes says Guidry was let go after the victim's mother met with District Attorney Ricky Ward and decided to drop the matter.
"The mother came in with Mr. Ward and decided she wasn't going to pursue charges any further because she didn't feel, knew it wasn't right. She didn't want to mess up the kid forever," Cazes explained.
Detectives later learned Guidry met the teen through a friendship she had with his younger cousin.
We visited Guidry's home on Friday evening. His mother told us her son was not home, and had no comment.
Guidry did not return our calls.
