New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush has agreed to a 2-year, $10 million contract with the Miami Dolphins. As part of the deal, the Saints will get safety Jonathon Amaya, a second-year guy who played as a backup last year.
Amaya signed with the Dolphins as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 30, 2010 and was later signed by the Dolphins off the team's practice squad on Oct. 30.
Amaya, a four year letterman at the University of Nevada, led the Dolphins last year in special teams tackles with 15.
Bush was due about $11.8 million this season from the Saints, the final year of his current contract.
With last year's leading rushers, Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, both free agents, the Dolphins were looking for a running back to pair with second-round draft choice Daniel Thomas.
In a tweet today, Reggie said goodbye, "I wish the New Orleans Saints the best of luck I will always be a fan! The team, coaches, and fans will be deeply missed!"
