NEW ORLEANS, LA - Ochsner Medical Center and Ochsner Medical Center-West Bank Campus have been ranked nationally in seven specialty categories and high performing in five categories by U.S. News & World Report's 2011-12 Best Hospitals rankings.
This makes the 11th year in a row Ochsner Medical Center has been recognized as one of the Best Hospitals in America.
The latest rankings showcase 720 hospitals out of about 5,000 hospitals nationwide. Each is ranked among the country's top hospitals in at least one medical specialty and/or ranked among the best hospitals in its metro area.
Out of 4,825 facilities analyzed for the 2011-12 U.S. News & World Report Best Hospitals rankings, only 140 hospitals earned a ranking in any of the 16 specialties. Ochsner, by contrast, earned rankings in seven specialty categories. Ochsner's quality metrics include data from both Ochsner Medical Center and its West Bank Campus. Ochsner is:
