A Baton Rouge rapper already in jail facing murder charges has now been indicted for allegedly committing other crimes while he was locked up.
Lil Boosie, whose real name is Torrence Hatch, was indicted by an East Baton Parish grand jury Thursday.
He is now officially charged with conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution and enticing a felony.
The charges stem from an investigation into Hatch allegedly trying to get codeine syrup into the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.
These charges are in addition to a pending first-degree murder charge.
Prosecutors said while the jail time is minimal, they will continue to charge Hatch if he is suspected of breaking the law while incarcerated.
