BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A 31-year-old man was arrested on murder and attempted murder charges after he allegedly pulled a gun and fired at several people, killing one of them.

The Baton Rouge Police Department said Brandon Hickerson was taken into custody in connection with a deadly shooting in the 4500 block of Clayton Drive around midnight.

Investigators reported Hickerson, Collins and a group of friends were hanging out in front of Collins's home when Hickerson started arguing with a woman.

Police said she was not identified.

Hickerson allegedly drew a handgun and shot at the woman, but Collins was hit instead.
