Ex-Auburn player says LSU booster gave money during recruiting

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A former Auburn football player claims he received money from an LSU booster when he was being recruited.

During taped interviews for an HBO special report, four ex-Auburn players said they received money from boosters. One of those players, Stanley McClover, said he received $500 in a handshake from an unnamed LSU booster during the recruiting process.

He claimed he also received sexual favors at Ohio State and cash in a book bag from Auburn. He eventually chose Auburn.

LSU officials have not commented on the allegations.

The Auburn Athletics Department released the following statement:

"Auburn Athletics respectfully declines to comment on these alleged claims apparently made by a few former football players. Compliance with all NCAA and Southeastern Conference rules is a major emphasis and top priority for all of our athletic programs at Auburn University."

The story will air Wednesday night at 10 p.m. on HBO.
