NORCO, LA (WAFB) - Workers at a Louisiana refinery showed up to work Sunday, only to be turned away and sent home after one person died and another was injured at the plant.
A contract worker at the Valero Refinery in Norco, which is near New Orleans, was exposed to chemicals.
Another worker was also injured and sent to the hospital.
The second worker is expected to be okay.
Both contract workers are employed with Koch Specialty Plant Services.
Officials said the incident remains under investigation.
