Police arrest second suspect in "Craigslist Robbery" cases

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A day after police arrested a suspect in connection with recent Craigslist robberies a second suspect turned himself in to authorities.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Brandon Seals, 19, was charged in one of the armed robberies tied to victims buying or selling iPads and/or iPhones on Craigslist.

Seals was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on one count of armed robbery.

Investigators said he is accused in a case that happened on Great Smokey Avenue on Dec. 12.

Someone who posted an ad on Craigslist offering to buy or sell iPads was beat up and robbed by two men around 8:30 p.m.

Police said it happened when he was trying to collect money from what he thought was a potential customer.

They added at least one of the men held a gun.

The other suspect charged in the case is Rayjaun Martin, 17.

He faces charges related to three other armed robberies.

Detectives are looking into the possibility Seals could have been involved in other similar crimes.

The said additional charges and arrests are possible.
