"It was an instant reaction when I heard someone hollering for help," Charlie Cangelosi said today as he spoke publicly for the first time about his brush with death.  The 23-year-old was shot last month while saving a pregnant woman during an armed robbery near LSU.   Cangelosi talks about the shooting, his road to recovery, and what he would say to the man who shot him.   It's all ahead on WAFB 9NEWS AT 6 as WAFB's Kiran Chawla brings you her exclusive interview with Charlie Cangelosi.

A blood drive is scheduled for tomorrow, from 10am to 4pm, to help replinish the blood used during Charlie Cangelosi's hospital stay.   You can donate by visiting the donation site at the U-High Lab School on the LSU campus.

On WAFB 9NEWS AT 5, Cheryl Mercedes reports on a serious school bus accident in Port Barre.   The accident sent 23 people to area hospitals and left three students in critical condition.

Some local children who grow fruit and vegetables and sell them to the public are hoping for help in finding the people who've been stealing their goods.   Besides missing fruit and vegetables, you won't believe what else was stolen!  Their story, tonight, on WAFB 9NEWS at 6.

Also at 6pm, watch live as the City of Baton Rouge official Christmas tree is lit for the first time this season.
