Colin approaches Bermuda, barely a tropical storm

MIAMI (AP) - Colin is moving slowly and barely retaining its tropical storm status as it approaches Bermuda, but it could regain some strength.

Colin's maximum sustained winds were about 40 mph (65 kph) Sunday. The storm's center is expected to pass near or over Bermuda on Sunday. A tropical storm warning has been issued for the British territory, which could see 1 to 3 inches of rain and battering waves.

Forecasters at the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said 0he center of the storm is about 90 miles (145 kilometers) south-southwest of Bermuda and is moving north-northeast around 7 mph (11 kph).

In the Pacific, Tropical Storm Estelle has top sustained winds of 65 mph (100 kph) as it heads away from Mexico.
