It's hard to believe that in just a few short weeks, students throughout the area will be heading back to class for the start of a new school year. Parents are already getting ready, purchasing school supplies and uniforms.
However, for some in our area, buying new uniforms for their child is a hardship that they simply can't afford. That's why WAFB is once again teaming up with St. Vincent de Paul to provide thousands of uniforms for children in the 12-parish area. And, we need your help.
You can drop off new or used uniforms at any Kean's the Cleaners. Or, you can send a check to:
St. Vincent de Paul
P.O. Box 127
Baton Rouge, LA 70821
A simple donation of $24 will buy a child the two uniforms he or she needs to attend school. We know times are tough. St. Vincent de paul, like other charities throughout Baton Rouge, has seen a drop in donations. This is one effort we sincerely hope is a success. Thousands of children are depending on it.
