For most people, the absolute worst way to attempt to deal with a smoking habit is through the use of willpower. Like moods and emotions, willpower fluctuates. One day it is strong. The next day may be a down day and willpower fades. It is usually neither consistent nor effective.
There are countless methods, programs, substitute products, pills, chewing gums, patches, self-help tapes and books, etc... among the stop-smoking procedures. Many are designed to help build the personal power to resist or overcome the addiction. Hypnosis uses a different approach. It eliminates the desire to smoke. Instead of giving up something enjoyable (a sacrifice), the individual's goal is to be rid of something that is no longer wanted or needed; therefore, causing the habit to be non-existant for the rest of their lives.
Reasons For Smoking
There are two principle reasons for smoking: Identification and replacement.
Identification is the situation in which the smoker indulges in the habit because others he admires do so (parents, peers, entertainment or sports figures, etc...).
Replacement smoking occurs when smoking is used to replace a deficiency in life such as lack of companionship, love, acceptance, self-esteem, security, etc... eras a reaction to anxiety or boredom. Replacement smoking is quite often a true and severe addiction.
The Nature of Smoking
Since smoking is both physical and mental, success in a non-smoking effort must change not only the mental attitude, but the physical reaction as well. That's where hypnosis helps. While you are hypnotized positive statements are given that go directly into your subconscious mind causing you to react differently to smoking. You actually alter your desire to smoke without any conscious effort. Through hypnosis your will power, self confidence and self esteem will also be enhanced. You will feel better about yourself physically, mentally and emotionally. You will notice improvements in all areas of your daily life.
The Two Step!
The two step method to stop smoking through hypnosis was developed as a result of extensive work with many people who had been unsuccessful with other methods for smoking cessation. It has been very effective for those persons who have a genuine desire to stop smoking.
