238 LSU employees would be laid off and 22 vacant jobs on campus would go unfilled as part of the university's initial response to a $46 million dollar budget shortfall, according to documents just released by the university.
The job reductions are part of a proposal that still needs approval.
The reductions would come in the first two steps of a three-step plan to respond to the proposed shortfall. Details of the third step of the plan have not yet been released.
