Tonight on WAFB 9NEWS

Here's a look at what's ahead this evening on WAFB 9NEWS:

WAFB's David Spunt landed an interview today with Doug Suttles - the Chief Operating Officer of BP.   Suttles talks about some of the things that are blocking progress in cleanup efforts.  And what's his reaction to oil being found near New Orleans, the first major city to be threatened?  David will have live reports from our Grand Isle Bureau on WAFB 9NEWS at 5pm and 6pm.

Is there something you'd like to ask David Spunt about the reporting he's doing in Grand Isle or things he's observed there?  Now's your chance.  WAFB's Andre Moreau will host a live online chat with David starting at 6:30 tonight.  Just log on to to watch and ask your own question.

Parts of downtown Baton Rouge were closed today to allow for filming of the movie
"Flypaper".  The movie stars Patrick Dempsey and Ashley Judd.  9NEWS was there and caught some of the action.  Be sure to check it out on WAFB's 9NEWS at 6pm.   Speaking of Dempsey - he and his bodyguard were spotted over the weekend riding his bike around the LSU lakes.  Several locals were able to talk to him and pose for pictures!   Did you get a photo?  Or do you have a photo with another celebrity?  Click here to email them to us.  To check out our gallery of local celebrity sightings, click here to head to WAFB's 9REPORTS website.

Have you enjoyed hearing the rain fall today?  It might also help put you to sleep tonight.  WAFB's Chief Meteorologist Jay Grymes says we should expect rain and isolated thunderstorms through the night.  Will it continue tomorrow?  Catch the 9STORM TEAM forecast at 5pm and 6pm.
