Jury convicts Lake Charles man of 2 burglary-rapes

LAKE CHARLES, LA (AP) - A Lake Charles man has been found guilty of breaking into the apartments of two women and raping them.

A Louisiana district court jury convicted Marcus Anderson, 32, of two counts of aggravated burglary and two counts of forcible rape Friday. He will be sentenced July 2.

Prosecutors contended that Anderson stalked the victims before the attacks.

According to a report, one victim was mentally disabled, while the other said she had a substance abuse problem. The second victim said her attacker had delivered drugs to her previously.

Each rape count carries up to 40 years in prison, while each burglary count carries up to 30 years.
