Ex-Baton Rouge teacher get 2 years in sex case

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - An ex-Redemptorist High School teacher and coach convicted of having sex with two students has been sentenced to serve two years in prison.

The Advocate reports state District Judge Tony Marabella ruled Thursday that 26-year-old Ray Samuel Clement III will have to register as a sex offender and cannot have a job or be involved in any other activity where he will have a supervisory position or authority over females under 17 as a condition of his parole.

Clement pleaded guilty in January to one count each of carnal knowledge of a juvenile, indecent behavior with juveniles and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. After his arrest in January 2007, Clement resigned from his job at the school where he taught earth sciences and algebra and also coached track and field.
