I have scaring in the middle of my cornea. Several eye doctors have told me the technology is not here yet to do surgery of any kind (Laser or Lasik). I want to know if it is possible. One docotor told me about 6 months ago when I asked him. Thank you for your time.
Whether surgery can be performed on a central corneal scar depends on the depth of the scar and the cause of the scar. Full thickness scars can only be treated with a corneal transplant. Superficial scars (near the outer surface) can be treated with laser but NOT if they are the result of a visual infection such as herpes simplex.
