BURAS, LA (WAFB) - The New Orleans Saints decided to change their plans for lunch with Gov. Bobby Jindal in Baton Rouge and instead, join him in visiting the coast.
The Saints hope, if anything, their visit will help boost morale down there.
The team visited the Fort Jackson Wildlife Center in Buras and met some of the workers and fishermen.
The Saints plan to raffle a specially-made ring, with all funds going to aid victims of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
Tickets are $2 each, but buyers must make a minimum $10 order.
The winner will be announced before the Sept. 9 regular-season game against Minnesota.
The Saints hope to raise $1 million through the effort.
