WCK installs drilled piers for support to correct foundation settlement and prevent future movement. Depending upon the project requirements, there are several different pier designs and sizes to choose from. In general, these piers can extend to depths between 6 to 12 feet, or to rock. They are machine-drilled with the aid of an auger mounted to a skid-steer loader (Bobcat). For pier locations where access is limited and for interior piers, a smaller machine is used.
Once the building is raised to its original grade (or as near as possible), structural steel supports are placed on each pier. Steel shims are then used for fine tuning. This method of foundation repair allows for easy adjustment if ever there is a need. Upon completion of the job, the pier locations are back-filled and the excess soil is used to correct any drainage problems around the foundation. Or we can haul away the excel soil along with the debris from the job. Then we clean up your yard, repair concrete breakouts done to gain access to foundation where piers are installed, pressure wash driveways, patios, walkways, etc where work was done.
All work is performed according to accepted engineering practices and carries a transferable, lifetime warranty. WCK is fully insured with General Liability and Workers' Compensation and can furnish such certificates upon request.
