Commission Chairman says crisis could benefit LA down the road

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Governor Jindal's Coastal Advisory Commission met on Friday in Baton Rouge. The commission is keeping a close eye on the oil spill.

Commission Chairman King Milling said this crisis could actually benefit Louisiana down the road.

"There is potentially an opportunity and we've got to be focused on that opportunity to see whether or not we can take this horrible tragedy and use it to further our quest for significant federal activity," said Milling.

There has been some criticism that the federal government dragged its feet responding to the crisis. Federal officials said the coast has had their full attention since day one.
