Motorcyclist killed after being ejected from bike on I-10

NEW ORLEANS - A motorcycle driver who police said had been driving erratically on I-10, over the Crescent City Connection and through the city died after losing control and being ejected from the bike, according to an NOPD spokesman.

Officer Garry Flot said a Jefferson Parish deputy began following the unnamed 20-year-old man on the Westbank Expressway near the Manhattan Blvd. exit when he noticed him driving in a reckless manner.

He said the deputy followed the Suzuki motorcycle as it passed through the toll booth and when the deputy neared the Claiborne avenue exit, he saw that the driver was lying on the ground.

The incident occurred just after midnight.
