4-alarm fire strikes vacant motel

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans firefighters battled a four-alarm blaze Saturday night at a vacant motel.

The fire happened at about 8:15 p.m. near Tulane and S. Miro, officials said.

Officials say there were more than 80 firefighters were called in to try and contain the fire to the vacant building. By 9 p.m. the fire department labeled it at 4-alarm fire.

No injuries have been reported.
