Toddler accidentally shot by Florida police

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A Florida toddler is in critical condition after being shot by police chasing a robbery suspect.

Authorities in Jacksonville say it happened Friday after a suspected bank robber commandeered a car the boy was riding in. Officers from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office fired at the vehicle, killing the suspect.

The 2-year-old boy was shot in the arm and upper torso and the boy's mother was shot in the foot. A 7-year-old girl in the car was unhurt.

The incident is under investigation.
