New Orleans police officer arrested

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A New Orleans police officer has resigned and been arrested following an investigation by the Public Integrity Bureau.

Superintendent of Police Warren J. Riley said on Friday that Officer Hillery Addison, who had been with the force for five and a half years, committed forgery by illegally signing the name of an accused on a traffic citation issued by Addison.

After she was questioned about the incident, Addison resigned from the New Orleans Police Department and was booked with forgery and several other counts, including malfeasance in office.

The completed report will be submitted to the Office of the district attorney for prosecution.
