Here's what we're working on tonight...

From Managing Editor George Sells...

We've heard about it but now the feds say they can confirm it. They say a former New Orleans police lieutenant knew a group of civilians trying to cross a bridge between New Orleans and Jefferson Parish were unarmed after Hurricane Katrina. Two people were killed by police and four others wounded. We'll have the latest on that investigation.

Remember the young sidekick of the Washington, D.C. sniper? Lee Boyd Malvo now says he killed a man in Hammond, Louisiana as "practice".  But there is a bizarre twist.  We'll have a survivor's story!

Things got nasty at Fred's on the River near Port Vincent last night. Ascension Parish deputies are investigating a shooting involving current and former alleged biker gang members.

The Baton Rouge Police Department has a highly experienced military chopper pilot in its ranks to head operations of a new Robinson 44 police copter. Officer Michelle Murphy says the chopper has special night vision that's going to see things normal officers cannot see.
