BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities have started to crack down on drivers who use the left lane in the wrong way by issuing over 50 citations in the past two weeks.
Drivers were cited for using the left lane when the right lane was clear.
The law requiring drivers to move into the right lane on a multi-lane roadway when not passing or preparing to make a left turn took effect late last year.
Louisiana State Police spent two months raising awareness after the bill became a law. Troopers were advised to use discretion when enforcing this law.
