BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Just before 4 p.m. Saturday, the Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a call on North 23rd Street to find a two-story, three unit structure engulfed in flames.
Investigators said it started because combustibles were too close an open flame.
The unit that caught fire has been considered a total loss. The other two units also sustained some smoke damage.
The building is a group home. Red Cross also responded to the call.
Damage is estimated at $15,000. There were no reported injuries.
