The champion snowfall report in Metro Baton Rouge appears to be in New Roads where WAFB measured 3 inches of snow.

Because so many agencies like schools, parish and city government were closed, rush hour seemed easy this morning, but this afternoon it seemed perfectly normal in the "heavy" category.

What about the two biggest parades in the Baton Rouge area: Southdowns and Spanish Town? Have no fear. They plan to roll as scheduled. At 4 p.m. Officials were already putting out the trash cans and barricades for Southdowns at 7 p.m.

The Sunshine Bridge was completely closed down this afternoon after a head-on crash between an SUV and an 18-wheeler. We'll have the details.

WAFB's Jim Shannon will report on Governor Jindal's new budget presented this afternoon. It's $5 billion lighter than last year, but the governor insists the attack on college education will be minimal.
