METAIRIE, LA (WAFB) - Investigators arrested a Metairie man Thursday in connection with a deadly hit and run crash in Baton Rouge from late January.
Christian J. Cvitanovich, 33, was arrested at his home. He is accused of driving the 2005 Ford Expedition that hit Mikel Carson as she walked along I-10 near the College Drive exit early in the morning on Jan. 31. She died from her injuries. A Chevrolet Impala was also hit.
Cvitanovich was wanted for negligent homicide, felony hit and run and reckless operation. Detectives with the Baton Rouge Police Department said Cvitanovich was placed in the Jefferson Parish Prison, where he is currently awaiting extradition.
