MIAMI, FL (WAFB) - A cub reporter who studied journalism in high school was recruited to conduct an interview in the final two minutes of media day for Super Bowl XLIV, which was moved indoors with the threat of rain lingering over Sun Life Stadium in Miami.
The extra help was needed because the close quarters made the situation more crowded and crazier than any other year. Reggie Bush attracted quite a crowd around his staging area, but even Opelousas native and former LSU wide receiver Devery Henderson drew lots of attention from the media.
For this special mission, Saints cornerback Randall "Blue" Gay was called upon to assist the crew covering the massive event. Gay is a graduate of Brusly High School and LSU alum. He decided his interrogation victim would be teammate and fellow defensive back Darren Sharper.
Gay started off the interview with a plan of attack. Sharper offered tips to his colleague on how to begin, since Sharper has done correspondence for national sports networks. There was lots of bantering back and forth between the two, but they seemed to have lots of fun and passed on some background information on one another.
