Two men rob another by posing as officers

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Authorities are trying to find two men who posed as police officers to rob a man at a gas station.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the incident happened at an Exxon service station on Sherwood Forest Boulevard around 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 24. A surveillance camera at the gas station captured images of the two suspects and the truck they were riding in.

Detectives said the two men walked up to the victim while he was sitting inside his vehicle at a gas pump. They reported the suspects identified themselves as police officers and told the man to get out of his vehicle. They then searched his pockets and his vehicle.

They ended up taking some of the man's personal belongings, but exactly what they got away with was not released by investigators.

The first suspect is described as 5'10" and weighed about 315 lbs. He looked 21-25 years old with short hair. He wore a blue button up shirt and blue jeans.

The second suspect was 6'0" and weighed 160 lbs. He had short hair. He wore a black/white button up shirt and blue jeans.

They were in a royal blue Chevrolet extended cab pickup truck.

Authorities urge anyone who may know the men or saw what happened to call the armed robbery office at 389-3845 or Crime Stoppers at 344-7867.
