BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - The husband and wife from Baton Rouge arrested for allegedly encouraging two teenage girls to fight on camera also face charges for the five juveniles ranging in age from 3 to 16 years old watching the fight at the time. The video of the fight was posted on YouTube on Saturday.
William Parker, 31, and Chanda Parker, 28, were charged with two felony counts of cruelty to a juvenile and seven misdemeanor counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Detectives with the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said they found out about the video Wednesday morning. They believe the fight happened and was recorded at the Parkers' home on Swingalong Avenue.
The video showed a man and woman take a 14-year-old and 16-year-old to the garage, where they begin fighting. Detectives said it appeared the 14-year-old received a cut lip during the fight, which bled profusely. When the girl tried to enter the home and stop fighting, the woman on the video closed the door and told her to "run up" on the older teen.
The Parkers were booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and bond was set at $35,000 for each.
"This type of behavior will not be tolerated," Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said. "We urge the public to contact law enforcement if they are aware of any acts of this nature."
