Officials call ex-fireman "serial arsonist"

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana officials have announced plans for a news conference to pass on additional information on a former volunteer firefighter they are referring to as a serial arsonist. The news conference will be held Thursday at 1 p.m.

Adam Carriere has been charged in connection with two fires in West Feliciana Parish. Since then, warrants have been issued for eight more fires. They were set in East Baton Rouge, Acadia and St. Landry parishes.

Col. Mike Edmonson, superintendent of Louisiana State Police, and Butch Browning, Louisiana fire marshal, plan to pass on further details about the fires and particulars of the investigations that led to Carriere's arrest.
