Crews rescue hurt worker from rooftop

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - A maintenance worker had to be rescued from the roof of a building in downtown Baton Rouge after he fell and reportedly hurt his neck Friday morning.

The worker was repairing the air condition at the old Commerce Building on Laurel Street when he fell off a ladder around 8 a.m.

The elevators in the building were not working and the stairway was too small, so rescue crews had to lower him down from the side of the building.

According to witnesses, the worker was conscious when he was taken to the hospital.
