BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Louisiana's largest health insurer says it has come to agreement with the Franciscan Health System.
Blue Cross says the 27-month agreement means its customers will continue to be fully covered for any treatment they get at Franciscan Hospitals in the state, including Our Lady of the Lake and St. Elizabeth in Gonzales.
Previously, neither party could agree on what would be fair to charge for treatment of Blue Cross customers. The insurance company says this pact calls for a minimal rate hike.
In recent years, contract negotiations between Franciscan Hospitals and Blue Cross have frequently ended with a last-minute agreement.
