This weekend will be an historic event for New Orleans Saints fans. For the first time in franchise history, the Saints enter the playoffs as the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

It was a season of many firsts for the black and gold, including an amazing 13-0 start. And while the last few games didn't end the way we wanted, it's been quite a ride.

Some sports analysts say the Saints are America's new team. I'm not sure about that, but they certainly are Louisiana's team. Our belief in the Saints this year has united people across the state, whether it's right here in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Houma or New Orleans.

You don't have to look far to find people of all backgrounds, ages or races sporting black and gold in their support of the Saints. That's the interesting thing about something as simple as a game of football. It makes us believe that anything is possible and for giving that thrill ride this year, Coach Payton, we say "Thank you."

Of course, we still want to see a few more wins this season, three to be exact. But no matter what the outcome is Saturday, just know than when the Saints take the field against the Cardinals this weekend, we are firm believers.
