LIVINGSTON, LA (WAFB) - A bridge that connects Livingston and East Baton Rouge parishes is scheduled for demolition after over 80 years of existence.
It is located on Highway 190 and has been around since 1927.
Crews will use dynamite to blow it up Wednesday morning.
Louisiana State Police will regulate the explosives that are used.
Once the center span collapses into the Amite River, inspectors will check out the remaining bridge and the new one to make sure there are no issues.
A stretch of the highway will be closed in both directions beginning at 9 a.m.
The roadway will reopen when conditions are declared safe to do so.
