Popular New Orleans bar goes up in flames

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - New Orleans firefighters battled a 4-alarm blaze on Bourbon Street late last night.

Officials believe the fire may have started on the second floor of the "Tropical Isle" bar. The blaze was first reported as a 2-alarm around 11:30 p.m., but then quickly heated up, turning into a 4-alarm blaze.

While the famous party street was packed with people.  The crescent city fire department says no one was injured. The extent of the damages is not yet known at this time.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
