"It was golf-ball size hail and the wind picked up real bad, like 40 miles an hour. All the trees were blowing to one side and it blew a fence board off. It kind of sounded like a tornado. It had a bad whistling noise, so I hollered to the wife and kids to get in the hallway and put the mattress over them."
A number of people have also called us about power outages in the area.
Entergy officials say about 3,000 customers were in the dark, as of 10:00. As of 10am Wednesday, that number was down to about 300 homes. The affected homes were near Broadmoor High School.
