Easter Egg Hunt at University Terrace (Photo by: WAFB-TV)Easter came early at the governor's mansion Tuesday, and the kids were on the hunt. First lady Supriya Jindal sent the kids scrambling to find those candy-filled eggs.
It marked the 11th year the Head-Start children were invited to the governor's mansion for an Easter celebration. Aside from the Easter egg hunt, there was face painting and of course, the candy.
There was also a special appearance from a very popular guy - no, not Governor Jindal - the Easter Bunny, and it seemed everyone wanted to give him a big hug, maybe kissing up to him before Easter Sunday.
The Baton Rouge Bar Association put on its own Easter egg hunt for the kids over at University Terrace. The bar association collected more than 8,000 eggs for the hunt. A surprise visit from the bunny himself was included in the festivities.
After stopping by University Terrace, members of the bar association headed to Family Services of Greater Baton Rouge to drop off Easter baskets full of goodies. The bar association collects donations for the kids every year. They tell us they will do the same Wednesday and Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic School and Buchanan Elementary.
