BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) - Two men were seriously injured in a shooting Thursday night, but they are expected to recover from their wounds.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, the victims were shot in the 4300 block of Beech Street.

Officers responded to the shooting around 9:30 p.m., but both men had already been taken to the hospital.

Detectives said each man was shot once.

They added the wounds were serious, but not life-threatening.

Investigators reported they believe the shooting was the result of an argument.

They said the victims were visiting someone at 4316 Beech Street when a truck with four men in it pulled up to them and an argument started.

Police stated one of the men inside the truck pulled a gun and opened fire.

The type of gun and number of shots fired was not released by authorities.

There were no specific details about the truck or the suspects.
