COTTON VALLEY, LA (WAFB) - Fire investigators believe a gas stove may be to blame for the death of a 50-year-old Webster Parish man Wednesday morning.
The Office of the Louisiana State Fire Marshal said Allen Parish was found dead in the master bedroom of a house on Residence Street in Cotton Valley after the home caught fire around 7:35 a.m. He was confined to a wheelchair.
According to Fire Marshal Butch Browning, investigators determined the fire was caused by a gas stove line connection.
An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.
The house suffered only moderate damage in the fire and foul play is not suspected.
